Muchos besos. y buenas fotos!
Oscar Oliver, an undergraduate student at Faculty of Fine Arts of Concordia University, is interested in public and private spaces, such as subways, museums, libraries, theaters, universities, houses, factories, and so on. His work can be seen as an examination of his own relationship with these places. He combines portraiture, documentary, abstract, and still life photography. Thus, his pieces suggest the idea of intimacy, and complicity between an anonymous –yet, familiar– space, its representation, and him. As a consequence, similarity, repetition, and physical dimensions may lead the spectator to a deeper study of the photographed place and his/her own space.
